Hey there, I’m Ryan
Hey there, I’m Ryan—founder of Tired Toad Woodworks. My journey started in the U.S. Navy, where I spent seven years as an Aviation Electronics Technician working on F-18s and EA-18G Growlers. After my service, I transitioned into the video game industry, working in production for five years. But as many know, the gaming world can be unpredictable, and after a round of layoffs, I found myself at a crossroads.
Woodworking became my escape during the COVID lockdowns—a way to stay grounded and create something tangible. I started with online projects (shoutout to Steve Ramsey) and quickly fell in love with the craft. Over time, what began as a hobby turned into my passion, and now, I’m pouring everything I have into building this business.
Tired Toad Woodworks is my chance to create something meaningful—handmade, custom home decor crafted with care and precision. My goal is to keep learning, growing, and hopefully turning this passion into a full-time career.
Beyond the workshop, I’ve been married to my incredible wife for 11 years, and we have two wonderful boys who keep life busy and exciting.
